Description
Where do ideas come from? ‘Ledger of Thoughts’ is my visual answer and companion to a previous artwork concerning my memories. Knots have been used for eons, across cultures (including mine — Judaism) to record thoughts and be reminders. Through a daily reflection on my brain’s activity, I created 250,000 knots, producing 365 increasingly dense and convoluted ‘neurons’. White knots honour daytime thoughts and grey represent nightly processing. I worked passionately, playing the thread like a musical instrument whilst relishing time to think. The complex installation demonstrates a combination of the intricacies of idea development, creativity and intuitive discovery within an artist’s process.
